Sadly our rabbit Natalie just died :_( but we did try as hard as we can to try to save her, we noticed a day before her death that she was not eating or drinking, AND SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE BABIES!!!!! So we tried to give her dried papaya, extra hay, and we put flavoring in her food. However, in the morning she didn't eat and my mom wasn't sure she would make through the day. I gave her a kiss before I went to school. My mom tried to call our 4-H rabbit leader for help, but she didn't pick up the phone. So, she called the vet so at least we could try to save the babies with an emergency C-section. When the 4-H leader called back she offered to give her IV fluids to try and keep her alive until the vet appointment. She said to bring her over NOW!! So, my mom ran out and BAM!! Poor little Natalie couldn't hold on any longer.... she was newly dead. It was a sad way to die, especially so close to having babies. I wish I could see her one more time. Thank you for listening.

I am sorry to hear that you lost your beautiful Natalie and babies, Bettina. You did a good job of caring for her by noticing the change in her eating habit and giving her good foods that would encourage her to eat and feel better. With you giving her such good attention, I can imagine that she must have loved you as much as you loved her. My condolences.
