So, you've decided to get a rabbit! If you're a first time owner, here's a great short-list of the...
Supplies you will need....
Supplies you will need....
- Good sturdy cage or bunny hutch
- Rabbit pellets - Woolies need at least 16% protein and at least 18% fiber, so check your labels. We use Purina Professional Rabbit which can be found at most Feed Stores.
- Water bottle
- Timothy Hay
- Chew toys or a small piece of hay or non-treated wood. Willow, pine, apple, pear branches are best
- Nail clippers (you can use a cat's or we use the same ones for humans!)
- Slicker brush and wide tooth comb with rotating pin teeth like this one
- Bedding ( if you use shavings, NEVER use ceder). Pine or aspen shavings are good and remember, the more the shavings have been screened, the less dusty they are and better for your bunny's lungs. Triple-screened is best. We use pine pellets that expand when wet and keeps the pan dry to prevent flies/pests.
- Litter pan (optional)
- Resting mat like these or piece of cardboard (optional)
